(SKU: LSB10075C3) The Samadhi Statue, one of the most magnificent pieces of sculpture and the largest Samadhi Statue, is located between the massive Abhayagiriya Stupa and the Kuttam Pokuna (Twin Ponds) of the famous Abhayagiri Monastery, which is built of dolomite marble. The original statue was gilded and featured inlaid eyes made of costly diamonds, according to legend. When seen from different angles, the statue's face is claimed to display three distinct characteristics. In Colombo, Samadhi sculptures known as Tholuwila Statues may be seen in the Colombo Museum. Along with the Samadhi Statue in Anuradhapura, the Toluvila Samadhi Buddha Statue is regarded as a masterpiece and one of the outstanding specimens of ancient Sri Lankan sculpting art.
