Sekkuwa

  

The way Sekkuwa operates, though simple, is a complex technology that was a grand evidence of traditional technological knowledge in Sri Lanka. Sekkuwa was at most of the coastal houses in the ancient Sri Lanka.

Sekkuwa produces virgin coconut oil and we used it for our day to day needs. However, with the introduction of various commercial cooking oils, we have almost lost this technology and the traditional coconut oil industry in Sri Lanka.
